For example, as a Watermark Certified Tapmaker, Foreno is at the forefront of incorporating the new AS/NZS 3718 Tap Standard (which encompasses the AS/NZS 4020 Standard) into its range. These standards are mandatory in Australia but not yet mandatory in New Zealand. The AS/NZS 4020 Standard requires that products do not release certain metals, such as lead, beyond minute quantities. The limits for lead are in line with the Drinking-water Standards for New Zealand 2005. For products that meet these Standards look for the Watermark specification (see the "Healthy Tapware" feature at the bottom of the Tap Buyer's Guide page). Foreno has led the way with ceramic technologies.
